Last July it rained every evening and we were typically heading out of the park at that time anyway. One afternoon it downpoured right as we were heading to a Be Our Guest reservation and we pulled on some ponchos and ran over from Winnie the Pooh. Our shoes and shorts were soaked when we got there and the restaurant is freezing so we weren’t super comfortable.
I bring a small backpack (usually a Loungefly) and pack a disposable poncho, mini misting fan, a couple snacks, sunscreen, full water bottle and extra bottle of water that I chilled overnight, and sometimes sandals if it’s going to rain.
Waiting in line for the Hogwarts ride was one of my worst experiences in a theme park. At one point it feels like you’re in a green house. There are minimal fans. I’ll never go back to Universal without an express pass!
Highly recommend watching YouTube videos of people using Genie+ in the parks. Mammoth Club makes some really easy to follow videos. It helped me so much and I was able to book 5-6 rides a day with it.
I saw a video that they can add the park hop option if you decide to later (at guest services). But if you get park hopper genie and decide to stay in one park, they can’t change that as of now. But park hop and Magic Kingdom seem to be the same price so far so it makes sense to just get the park hop option if you think you might.
